Notice on Replacing Clock Batteries with Supercapacitors

We would like to inform you of an important product update regarding Anviz time & attendance and access control devices.
To improve product reliability and optimize global logistics compliance for electronic products, we have updated the clock backup component in our devices from a traditional coin-cell battery to a supercapacitor.
This enhancement helps ensure more stable transportation, improved long-term durability, and a better overall user experience.
Technical advantages of using a supercapacitor:
- Longer overall lifespan Unlike traditional coin-cell batteries, supercapacitors are not subject to chemical aging or sudden failure, providing more reliable long-term operation.
- Wider operating temperature range Supercapacitors operate reliably under extreme temperatures (–40°C to +85°C), making them well suited for industrial and commercial environments.
- No battery replacement required Supercapacitors support hundreds of thousands of charge/discharge cycles, eliminating the need for periodic clock battery replacement.
- Environmentally friendly Supercapacitors contain no heavy metals or hazardous electrolytes, making disposal simpler and more sustainable.
- Improved transportation compatibility Supercapacitors simplify shipping and logistics handling for electronic devices, helping reduce transportation complexity and delivery delays.
Important note for your customers:
When end users first receive the device, they may notice that the clock time is not accurate. This is normal and may occur because the supercapacitor is not fully charged during transportation and storage.
To ensure normal operation, please advise customers to:
- Manually set the correct time on the device.
- Keep the device powered on continuously for 20–50 minutes to fully charge the supercapacitor.
After the initial charging period, the supercapacitor will function normally and maintain clock time during temporary power interruptions for approximately 7–10 days.
